A way to exclude a certain forum from Today's Posts

If you don't want to see the Politics forum posts when you get the new posts, here is the way to exclude them:

http://www.xoutpost.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=85

Make a bookmark with your browser with this URL (not the URL for the Search Results page you get after you execute the above URL that has the token "searchid" in it).

You can use the "include" keyword as an alternative if you only want to see certain forums. You can provide a comma separated list of forum ids.

http://www.xoutpost.com/forums/search...4,5,6,7,8,9,10

I don't know of a way to get the forum ids other than trial and error (I sequentially excluded ten at a time and then when the Politics forum didn't appear in the 81-90 searched within that to find the Politics forum id).

The site admins can likely provide a list if they're so inclined :)

P, Why would you wanna miss those in Today's Posts list?

I wonder

BTW, to bookmark the link I gave:

Firefox: right click on the link and choose "Bookmark this Link" from the context menu.

IE: right click on the link and choose "Add to Favorites" from the context menu.

I think that the Politics forum is great.

I've been wondering that myself. I'd like to see a Today's Post for only the subscribed forums.

This thread probably belongs in the Feedback and Suggestions forum.

I think it's great too, it keeps those threads out of the lounge.;)

Yeah, and I think even after the election, these political threads are still gonna pop up a lot.

Maybe leave the forum open a little longer after the election for those who want to discuss further?

It should always be open that way if you don't want politics you don't have to read it and if you you know where to go.
