Thoughts on RITA

So wheres it going, and what effect will it have on filling up my X? We dont get the latest news here, but last i heard it was heading for TX?

1) The feds will provide better aid after doing a mediocre job with Katrina.
2) I think it will die down to a Cat. 4 or 3 upon landfall, so it should be a little weaker.
3) Evacuate yourself and your X5. If you can't, then at least park the X5 somewhere ABOVE ground.
4) Invest in a shop-vac which sucks water and/or a water pump from Home Depot.
5) Take out a second mortgage so you can fill up the X5 at $6 per gallon.

They are saying it's not getting any weaker just yet. As a matter of fact, they predict that it may still be a Category 1 (or even Category 2) storm by the time it hits Dallas. So far Rita is the 3rd strongest storm on record... ever. I hope it doesn't move up any. :wow:

Time to add Katrina and Rita to the "axis of evil"

Hope all is well in Texas. And for sure hope no Katrina victims get hurt in Houston from Rita. Thats just kickin em when they are down.

I hope it doesn't hit as hard as some are predicting. I do find the fallout from Katrina to be amusing. There is so much political finger pointing. I think that the governor of Louisiana and the mayor of New Orleans are scrambling to blame others to evade their own liability.

Here is an interesting story from New Orleans. It is another version of people taking responsibility for their own well being. Do not depend on emergency services from any level of government. Nobody can take care of you like you can. Food, water, guns, and ammunition = my plan for a natural disaster.

Don't mess with this neighborhood watch!

Of all the crap I've given away or sold in my 58 years, the Only things I regret doing so, are selling any of my guns or my M'cycles.
