Computer help- no display to monitor
Pulled out a computer that was in storage. Connected the monitor to the vga connection (motherboard), but the screen is blank. I tried an old crt monitor and same thing with that one. When the lcd isn't connected, it says 'no signal'. When it is connected, the power led blinks as if it and/or the computer is in stand-by. I can hear the computer working properly through it's onboard mini speaker, windows loading et al. Any ideas? It's got a DVI connector off the video card, but I don't have a DVI-VGA adapter. Any ideas before I go buy one?

Sounds like a bad video card :dunno:
That is what's been wrong for me in the past when monitors wouldn't come on that worked on other computers. You have tested these monitors on other computers right :) |
Are you saying you have an onboard video and a video card as well? If so, you may have turned off the onboard video in the BIOS. Try hitting Del or F2 before it starts to boot, or try removing the video card.
