no need to read article. hedge fund says it all.

What is the purpose of this thread?

I'm not sure, either...I perused the list of HFs and I suppose it
is meant to point out that only a couple handfuls on that list of
100 made gains in 2008.

Otoh, the "size" of the fund is really conjecture, "as reported", and
the gains/losses are even more suspect, as they have to report very,
very little to anyone, including their sucked in investors, imo.

I'm not anti-hedging, but that list is like the "best dressed on Wall St"
or somesuch...

Last time I checked Blue and purpose have NEVER gone together, EVER

I just thought it was helpful information.

Not all hedge funds are bad.
