Washer & dryers: I hate this!

Damn the Internet and all the information out there. It's driving me nuts. I almost prefer to be kept in the dark and ig'nant. So I'm researching W&D's and it's insane. Imagine all of the information and details we talk about with our X5's and apply that to W&D's and you'll understand. It's a damn washer for gawd's sake! How much can be discussed about a washer??? At least an X5 is a complicated vehicle. One forum had posts discussing a 1/2" difference in tub depth. I'm going nuts and I think I'm just going to buy a set of Kenmores I saw at Sears.

Kenmore 44152 washer

Kenmore 94152 dryer

Any appliance experts out there who can add their $0.02?

I know I do this to myself. I'm an obsessive researcher. It took me three hours of research to decide what portable speakers to get for my iPod. :tsk:

Put it on your registry.

Those Kenmores are good, PNG. The way I see it, far as the washing machine goes...you want something that won't rust, is decent sized, won't tear up clothes and has several settings so you and the intended can wash everything your own way. You want a dryer that gets hot enough to dry heavy fabrics and pillows, has room to dry your just washed load, and one that won't catch fire if you forget to clean the lint trap. IF you're gonna have it someplace where people can see the W&D, THEN think about the keepin up with the Jones's factor. Front load washers are the thing now. Wait till the Dyson washing machine gets a US distributor, MAN! I bought the guy's vacuum cleaner. That dude ain't bullsh***in about his inventions.

Ah, "Ob-com investigative style"! I am familiar/guilty of that method!:D

My only advice is to get by some of the handwringing on the stuff that May not be too important, and spend that energy on the more imp. stuff. It is, however, a new/new to you, house proj. and that precludes it ever turning out poifect! Thus, no amt of time you spend will make those selections 100%, in hindsight.

No lecture, K., but life is short enough. I find that getting on w/stuff of not great import, tends to make the road smoother, these days.

Hellsbells, theCEO chased real Stone cabinet door pulls for a month in this joint when we were building!
GL with your selections and the process, but all you have to please is yourself(s) in a reasonable manner. BR,md

Thanks for the advice guys. I am going to go with the tried and true method of having a servant take my clothes to the river and beat them against the rocks. Either that or else I'm going to be more conservative and not get the latest and greatest W&D so I can spend the extra money elsewhere. So little money, so many things to buy....

-I suggested to myMissus she should do that very task, and save us some dough on our fixedincomedeal. She told me to STFU!
