I think a lot of governmental employees work hard and stereotypes on this great day are not appropriate.

Government work can be interesting.

I actually applied for, and got a Govt
Job which i promptly quit because it
took too long to get anything done.

Some folks like that kind of work
environment though..

The Government can be an interesting employer. There are definite pros and cons. The one major pro right now is greater job security than the private sector. It's not absolute but it's better than many have it these days.

Those babies have it made though. Sleep, eat, poop, cry, get booby. Not a bad living. :D

I always read the DMV jokes, but the DMV in my town is great. Don't go there often, but when I do it takes 15 or 20 minutes and then I'm on my way. Never had any problems ever. I guess it depends on which state you are in or which DMV office.

Fire Department, EMS, Department of Correction, Court System

Government jobs work like this:

8% of the employees do 70% of the work.

Kinda like paying taxes, 8% of the people pay 70% of the taxes.
