What do think, not sure what it archives?

This is a way to raise awareness, get people engaged and to build support for the WWF cause to take action against global warming.

WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Sounds like a good idea put X5 World seems to be anti-green most believe that global warming is unreal and don't care about carbon foot print.

Screw Earth Hour... all we need to happen is that at 9:30 when everyone turns everything back on is the local power companies won't be able to handle the urgen draw and blammo.

Instead of playing "lets shut the lights off and blog about it" how about we start REALLY investing in wind and solar power. Oh, doh, that would use that critical thinking crap again and not be as "cool" as our collective light blog :) 100% guaranteed one of these clowns hits a blog or twitter during that hour telling how cool they are for doing it. Then they'll probably tell tales of how cool it was to not use power for an hour and all the neat new things they learned to do in the dark.

Update your Twitter on the night and write #earthhour or #voteearth and your #location in your update to tag it.

And I read about someone that is local to the Global Warmingist in Chief himself, AlGore, drove by his compound and found that while many lights were off, there were still lights on in the compound. If this had been summer, I'm sure the heated pool would have been running. I also wonder whether the celebtard Ed Norton took a private jet to promote this nonsense?

Anyway, I forgot it was going on at the time. My plan was to leave all of the lights on in my place and drive around in my 4.8 as aggressively on the throttle as I could.

I turned everything on at 8:30, just because. My house looked like a Greek Church at Christmas.

We turned all lights off (except for 2 energy efficient bulbs). We left the TV on, so we are probably blacklisted :rofl:

I think it gets people talking about the issues, which is good. For me, it is not so much about global warming, it is more about sustainability. I think we need to work towards a more sustainable society. Reduced fossil fuel consumption is just part of that. Wagner has the right idea IMO, we need to invest in wind, solar, wave power, etc. If a collective 'lights out' event promotes more conversations on those initiatives, that's fine, that is all they are setting out to do.
