yesterday I got the bird and a whole lot of abuse from a cyclist because he was trying to get across the road that I had just turned onto, and the 4.8 tends to sound throaty when it kicks down a gear to get the big lump going.

he thought I was trying to 'race' him to stop him crossing in front of me.... firstly a loser to think I have nothing better to do than waste time on that sh#t and secondly I wasn't even going quickly.....

finally though and this might seem a little 'out there', but a number of years ago I slowed down, chilled out, left a gap for cars to enter at intersections, let people merge in front of me yada yada and now, I always get let in, cross through impossibly heavy traffic and don't get any aggro...

I call it karma...

How long does karma take? It sure ain't instant. I'm the one that holds back traffic to let someone make a left onto a busy roadway. I'm the one that moves to the center lane so someone can merge in the right lane. I'm the one that lets someone out of a driveway or side street. The courtesy is rarely returned.

ahh but are you chilled out or 'hell on wheels'.... he he.... it works for me because I kind of expect it.... like my wife who ALWAYS gets the park at the front door of wherever she's going.... ( I just shake my head time after time)

I'm a polite and courteous "hell on wheels"

I pulled onto a highway (from a business driveway) the other day, and the car I got in front of blew the horn, pulled up next to me, passenger yelling, etc. Thought it may be blondboinsd, but it wasn't. :) Even though there was about 75 meters between me and the car when I pulled onto the road, they decided I cut them off somehow. Idiots.

They were probably mad they had to let off the skinny pedal for about 3 seconds... how DARE you! :rofl:

Seriously: (I added a few things) but I ran into this same person driving a Prius a few weeks back.

I think most Prius drivers hate BMW's.
