Art buffs, I need a favor..

Today I was in an office and saw this really cool piece of art. I asked the owner where he got it but he couldn't give me specifics.

It was signed "STANTON" and he said it was a female artist from the east coast.

The piece was a picture of the rock band, THE CLASH which was incorporated into a collage or sorts.

I tried looking up on google using,
"Artist"
"Stanton"
"Rock art"
"Rock and Roll Art"
"Female Artist"
"Stanton The Clash"

But I wasn't able to find the artist. I'd be interested in seeing more of her work and potentially purchasing some.. But again, I don't know where to look.

Any ideas?

thanks,
B

That's work by Eric Stanton. Interesting....

I don't think that's the same artist. It's certainly not the same style as what I had seen.

What I saw was from the rock band, THE CLASH. It was a photo/paint on, on canvas, surrounded with artistic interpretations of tickets to the shows, etc.

I looked up "rock art" but all I found was "earth" type rocks, that people had painted, not rock and roll art, lol...

Seth, Having time on my hands this am, I wandered all over the web
looking for you. I actually saw that pic, among others, on a site called
Red Bubble, but I had no idea that was the "one"...

NEway, glad you found it.

He had us both fishing but not catching anything. LOL

Wow, thanks guys..
I wasn't trying to make you fish. I just don't know much about art and I thought someone here might have known the name Stanton or at least might have known a web forum where I could have tracked her down.

I do appreciate you all Google searching for me. Hope you know it wasn't my intention to spend your time on my silly goose hunts..

But thanks, thanks, thanks.. And glad I stumbled upon it or it would have driven me bonkers.

Talk about fishing...
I had this song on cassette.
(yep I still have some great music
on cassette that plays in the X)

Anyhow the cassette got damaged
a bit so I went looking for the song
in my entire collection. No Soap.

I searched and searched the internet.
again no soap.

So after a few days I remembered
Shazam an iPhone app that can identify
a song if you play it in the iPhone.

But talk about frustration? It's been a
long time since I searched for something
like that.

So I downloaded the App and tried it
with some other songs first then I played
the cassette and low and behold the song
was identified.

I have no clue how I got the song because
the artist is not part of my collection at all.

But talk about frustration... What a challenge
