It is most likley a 3.0.
I have one and it is not a rocket, I think my wife's minivan has a better pickup, seriously!
But my SAV looks better and has Xdrive!

x5 has always been slow,, x6 has helped..maybe the mx5 will be able to compete with the front runners

Doubt it's 3.0; it times out as a ~14 second qtr run.
