More celebrity deaths: Karl Malden

Oscar-winning actor Karl Malden dead at 97 - CNN.com

Its a bad time of year to be a celebrity.

I don't mean to be unkind but I honestly thought he
had already passed away.....:dunno: RIP Karl. 97 was a good ride...

97 is a good, long ride indeed...
Malden was fabulous in On The Waterfront
and Streetcar Named Desire, among many
other flicks. RIP.

At least this one won't have any controversy over it... I think we all need a break!

Me too. I thought he had passed away years ago. "Streets of San Francisco" was one of my all-time favorite TV shows.

I thought Ernest Borgnine was dead also, but he's still cranking out movies at 92 years old. Here's a recent TV interview from last September.

The old lady across the street from me is 102 nearing 103, and still drives her car everywhere, cuts her own grass, walks all around the neighborhood etc. I think the key lies in her will to stay fully active and healthy throughout her life. She has never stopped living the way she wants... actively! I admire that alot and hope to be as well preserved in my older days.

Quicksilver 07-01-2009 10:19 PM

Good for her. She's got me. I don't cut the grass........
But I'm thinking about going back to it.....:tapping:
But those Honda commercials mowers are expensive.
Now i'll bet your gonna tell me she has a push mower huh...;)

Weasel 07-01-2009 11:29 PM

Self propelled push mower... yard too small for a rider here in suburbia. The only time she accepted help was when she had a wasp sting on her arm that was messing with her and she asked for help with the pull start. Tough 'ol girl she is.
