Who here has got the iPhone 3G(S)?

How do you like it so far?

Juanted 07-11-2009 02:54 PM

I do. It's great. A lot faster. Runs very smoothly, and apps launch very quickly. Not so sure about the longer battery life claims, though.

I recommend it. It's a great smartphone.

Me too, I love it, very, very fast!!!!!!!!!!!

Meiac09 07-11-2009 08:49 PM

Did you all pay full tilt or did AT&T give you any credit? I'm thinking of picking one up in Europe on prepaid since I'll be there for several months.

SuperGreg 07-11-2009 08:51 PM

Full tilt ;)

chefwong 07-12-2009 09:41 AM

Unless imagination is calling me crazy but even *reception* seems better. Maybe 1 extra bar in previous spotty spots.

Wish it had a *usable speakerphone* though......

themoth 07-12-2009 11:54 AM

Paid 200$ for mine. And one full tilt. Worth it, thing is with Apple products you have to be prepared to buy their new version each year. The way it is always something better out there

Not sure the 4G(next year) coverage will be as good.

MrLabGuy 07-13-2009 03:15 AM

I've had mine for a few weeks now and I can say there is enough difference in the speed to warrant a change. I've had the 1st Gen, the 3G and now this 3Gs...I'm also getting better reception over the same area and I spend a lot of time on a cell phone so it is not a fluke. I've always loved the iPhone for the Apps but thought it was a substandard phone in terms of call quality. AT&T still SUCKS but the 3Gs is a decent phone with Great Apps.

Last5oh 07-13-2009 09:37 AM

Thanks for the great feedback.....

But the 3G(s) is still OUT-OF-STOCK in Toronto! I'm on a waiting list and a dealer has promised (since last week) to put one aside for me and give me a call when they take delivery... nothing yet. I hope this is not an artificial shortage.

just go to an apple store... Even at the initial 3G release, the Apple store was much better stocked than the AT&T shops. I was in Toronto last week and I saw 3Gs available signs everywhere.

For those of you with 3.0 phones.
(Not first generation phones)
Did you have to sign on to a new
2 year contract?

B-Line 07-13-2009 01:07 PM

I'm still holding out for the dream that they will one day make a "pro" type model with real qwerty keyboard..

...Call me a dreamer.

itstony 07-13-2009 02:14 PM

i still havent grabbed hold of a 3g since i broke my 1st gen..lol. i'd love to have a 3gs though..do you think they have found a way to unlock it yet? is anyone selling a 3g?

chefwong 07-13-2009 10:43 PM

f-gin A....

got the iphone in one pocket but still holding dear on to a verizon phone in the other due to coverage....It's a terrible system I have....

maccis 07-14-2009 03:50 PM

I have it and enjoy all the features, but battery life. After having it for several weeks now, the battery life is abysmal. To last more then a day and a half, you need to turn off Wireless and 3G network.
The battery is actually smaller then the 2g or 3g model.

AT&T isn't one of the service providers in Toronto (or anywhere in Canada), so that isn't an option there.

I meant in terms of providers vs. Apple. I remember the rogers stores having "in stock" signs when I was there two weeks ago.

I'm glad I turned my phone onto airplane mode. My friend didn't and got a $60 overage from our 3 hours in Toronto. International rates for everything are a complete crock of crap. It all goes to the same internet at one point or the other.
