Spring,Summer Views...
Since I haven't tossed up pics of our view in awhile, I suspected
all my fans were having withdrawal... Some snaps of of view, from our deck, here at 5,000 ft elevation in HillbillyHeaven, from the past several weeks. Thanks for looking! BR,mD A Soft Dusk... http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...152_0101-1.jpg Unusual Morning Look Toward MtPisgah & TheColdMtn http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...ySunrise-1.jpg A telephoto look down our Mtn at morning mist covered ridges; most have a few houses on them, but are backlight by the rising sun: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...estele6-09.jpg A lucky cloud, stormy morning shot. Looks pastoral or Hudson River School, sort of... http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...sts5-25-09.jpg Dramatic layers of clouds in vertical shot; unusual wet and stormy weather this season on the Mtn: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...dLevel6-09.jpg Lucky Rainbow shot; I have shot a bunch, but I like how stormy the view is and the wall of rain in left side of pic. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...k/152_0231.jpg Big Thunderhead building, sitting on our deck... http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...ewFromDeck.jpg Lucky Lightning shot...hand held, so blurry as hell, & it is the only thing I am afraid of/phobic. It took some fortitude for me to be on the deck when this sucker light up the sky. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...e6-16-09-1.jpg And, last of this batch, a pretty neat dawn/rising sun shot view... Thanks for Looking! http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...152_0130-1.jpg |
The only way for me to get that great a view from my home is when you post a thread! Damn flat azz'd Louisiana!

Miss that place, GORGEOUS pictures. Love the thunderstorm pics, especially! Nice pics!
Hows the mountain season going? |
Nice job MD!
The lightning shot is a incredible, and even moreso considering it's handheld. |
Fantastic batch of shots. Always enjoy these deck pics, specially when they have big weather systems moving through.

Very cool shots. I can relate to that kind of weather; I saw similar haze/storm/cloud conditions a few hundred kilometres north of you. Those shots make me want to drive out one of these days and take some snapshots too!

Thank you for all the props and, "views" of my views...
LM: I shoot "Large X-Fine", which on my budgeto Konica-Minolta 5D is one step below RAW, and ~3MB to <5MB. I use Aperature Priority 90% of the time, and also Manual, underexposing by 1 to 2 stops to see what happens to the clouds/highlights. Meiac: Mtn life is good, if rainy, but time flies by... The lucky lightning shot was handheld at 1/10 of sec, f 3.5; thus, the so-so quality, but a "hurdle" for me as lightning is the only thing I am afraid of...a phobia from my pre-school days. I use Canon Zoom Browser and occasionally Picasa3, to download into my 'puters, though Picasa is an unwiedly program, folder storage-wise, imo. No PS. Thanks again for the kind comments... BR,mD |
Nice pics MD:thumbup: some of those could make a nice HDR pic.
