Miracle Kidnap recovery (after 18 years)
 

Isn't that sicko?! Ruined most of three young lives. Let's pray they recover to some degree. And their family. I cannot imagine fully getting over that kind of trauma.

This is much worse than one can imagine.

Contra Costa County Sheriff Warren Rupf acknowledged today that his agency failed to detect a hidden backyard compound at the Antioch-area home of a registered sex offender and missed two opportunities to rescue the girl he is accused of kidnapping.

Apparently this is the tip if the iceberg regarding the police mistakes.
