Some peeves with the MB

Why do these cars come with the Car-Phone controls on the head unit and steering wheel when nobody uses a dedicated car phone anymore?

Bluetooth should be standard along with an Aux input. Also...The cup-holder is pretty strange but then again the German cars these tend to be an afterthought. I understand American's demand cup-holders and Domestic Vehicles tend to have two for every person but there should be a happy medium with at least one functional cup-holder for each front occupant.

What year C230 did you get? I loved the look of them after their 2005 refresh. I always found the interior to be high quality and while the back seat is tight the front seats are the same size as my 2003 325i's were. I also enjoyed the fantastic paint colors they offered, I was a huge fan of the Mars Red option with a nice black leather interior

We are looking to replace my wife's E320 soon, and she is less than thrilled with the BMW 5 series at the moment (not sporty-looking enough). So, we are looking at a variety of vehicles for her.

:iagree:

I like the new E350 (but I wouldn't buy because a new engine is coming out this fall) especially with the sport package

The 5 just looks dated to me, even with the sport package but it sure drives nice.

Did you check out the M35S, I love the look of it!

My dad has been looking and I think has finally decided on a 2010 Hyundai Genesis 4.6. I didn't like it until I drove it, all I can say is wow!

I picked up a 2007 with low miles (14,000) because I'm going to drive the heck out of this car and did not want to take a big depreciation hit. I'll only have this a year or so to get me by because I like a car with a bit more power. I still have a Chrysler 300 SRT8 with 425hp so I can get my 0-60 thrills with that when I need. It only gets about 11 MPG so I was spending about $50 a day in gas and I don't want to stack on the expensive miles on that car.

The car is White with Black interior and has the Sport package as well as most the options that came with that year. I miss the memory seats and electronic steering tilt as well as the electric forward and back for the seats. White cars show less dirt and clean up nice and most important tend to be stealthy. I'll be driving 3 days a week down Hwy 101 and on to HWY 280 into San Jose and that section of freeway is the Bay Area Autobahn. Most of the time cars are passing you if you are going 75 and 85 moves with most traffic. It also happens to be one of the most patrolled sections of freeway I've ever seen. My V1 keeps me ticket free and not being flashy helps as well. I like the clean lines of the car but I almost picked up a Loaded 07 330. The car sold the day before I decided to buy the car and parked in its place was this C230. The deal on parts and labor helped me decide on the MB so it was fate the 330 sold. It was a good move.

White cars show less dirt than black cars, but one drive on wet pavement and it shows road dirt very well. But it doesn't rain much in California, so that's not a major problem.

White cars are not more stealthy than any other car. Between the various drivers our white X3 has been stopped 4 times for speeding in the last 4 years. It's not we're leadfoot either.

MrLG,
Sounds like a decent ride, and a pretty good deal, esp for hammering that commute.
Good Luck with your new car, and X ownership is not a req'd for staying on the
Board.

Snoops debunked the Red Cars get more tickets but did conclude that White Cars get less. Not the most scientific but Snoops is pretty good compared to most when looking into a topic.

Just makes sense when you see two cars at a distance speeding the bright colors red and yellow will be more visible than a silver or white car.

Peace of mind is what you believe regardless whether or not it is correct.

I had a bright green (British Racing Green) Triumph many years ago. Think that thing wasn't seen for miles? :)

I paid $22,250 did CarFax and had my BIL run the VIN. Came up clean with only one Dealer Recall repair performed. This model is made in Germany which may or may-not make a difference. I'd like to think it does.

I had a Red 5.0 Mustang Convertible with a 4 speed back in High School. I got 6 tickets in three weeks...Friday and Saturday, Friday and Saturday, Friday and Saturday. It was an expensive lesson and my then Girlfriend now Wife drove the Mustang and I got her Honda Civic Hatchback for the duration of my poor driving record.

I've only had one speeding ticket since in my 1997 BMW 540 Sport with the manual trans. Pulled over 4 times and got off but the 5th time was by an officer that let me off a month prior and remembered me. I was driving a bunch for work up in Northern California with lots of trees, curves and road to cover.

Traffic school cleaned that up.
