I have native tethering too :thumbup: Sucks that France is still in the 1980's as far as coverage :thumbdown |
No, couldn't care about MMS.
I do care about the ridiculously poor battery life on my 3G after the OS 3.1 upgrade though. There have been hundreds (thousands?) of complaints from 3G and 3GS users about the impact to battery life after that upgrade. Apple is looking into it. |

Having to charge the phone twice a day, then having it die after four hours is ridiculous, with the bluetooth off, not using the internet other than occasional map and a text. I'm ready for the iphone 4.0 and it better be DAMN good. |

I use MMS quite a bit on my 3G to send pictures. It comes in handy if the parents send me to get something, so I could take a picture and ask if it's the right thing.
I don't think my iphone lasts more than 4 hours..and I charge it every time I am in the car or at home/work. But I send alot of emails and texts...soo yeah. My phone fell in the pool yesterday..and 3GS isn't launched here yet.. sucks!! |
I'm ready for MMS! I miss that feature after changing from a Razor to iPhone when they first came out. I have the 3GS now and the battery life is awful. And until 3.1 the wi-fi would barely work at home. And hello! how about a flash for the camera. It's worthless in low light situations. Add to that the sucky volume when bluetooth paired with my X5 that wasn't there in the first gen iPhone.

Getting back to the OP
Anybody upgraded yet? How does it work. |
I'm happy to report that SuperGreg's MMS is working fine and dandy on his iPhone. :rofl:

After Power Down and back on, I now have MMS. Just tried it out. Sending a photo tooking longer than expected but it did seem to work... :) |

Who knows why Cut and paste and MMS came late and all in 1 year.
But remember in the late 90s when everybody started selling colorful electronics because they figured that was what made the iMac so popular? Selling colorful electronics didn't make their product any better at all and the industry is still copying the Apple model.................:nanana: Quote:

Have 3.1 and no text change. Is this the new one or what?:dunno::confused:

[QUOTE=Meiac09;663771]Is it bad that I think international roaming with my provider over here would cost less? :stickpoke And I get TV. But that sounds like a plan... I'll have someone back home deal with it. Do you think I have to do anything to cut it off my account? (lost it somewhere in Paris)

The movie was released 14 years ago. There are 7.2 million hits on Google for the first sentence of the quote (less the word 'insanely' which is often dropped). That means by my quick calculation that on average it has been used on the internet once per minute for the last 14 years. :thumbup: |
Seriously;
I'm not your boy and secondly If you can't figure it out do some research smart guy:nanana: You can be the first on this forum to be a little smarter. For starters read post #31 Don't make me use your Billy Madison quote..:nanana: Quote:

Well what do you know sounds like your describing my iPhone.
The difference is the iPhone is easier to use...... How do I know ??? I have both..................:stickpoke BTW do you really believe that no one ever calls the support desk about a Blackberry? That has to be the biggest joke of all.......:rofl: Quote:

The point in question that you're ignoring is that I called out Apple and their fans for turning a blind eye to the iPhone not having basic capability that other phones have had for almost 10 years. To add to the ridiculousness and fanboydom, iPhone users act like Apple is being innovative when they do finally get the functionality. That being said, I am also making the point that I prefer that a company make the basics a priority instead of the "superfluous crap" apps that it seems that Apple has done. When you're in a support organization and people are calling my help desk saying "why can't i do this? it's a basic function, figure out a work around" on a daily basis, it supports my point. Regarding your comment about "no one ever calling the help desk about a bberry", no, I never said that. HOWEVER, iPhone's in a corporate environment need far more support not only from a user perspective, but from our Chief Security Officer standpoint as well, as Apple hasn't made it a priority to provide business applications that allow us to secure the devices, remotely wipe them if they're lost, push email instead of pull, integrating RSA tokens, etc etc. Hmmm, I guess I didn't need to do any research after all, go figure. |

Boy in any form isn't acceptable. But for your information
I do enjoy Apple products. I have a choice and I'm happy with the decision I have made. But contrary to popular opinion I don't fit the urban description of "Fanboy. I'm not "A person who is completely loyal to a game or company reguardless of if they suck or not. Quote:

Your calling out Apple and their users for turning a blind eye to the iPhone not having basic capability that other phones have had for almost 10 years?
Your preaching to the Choir my friend. Apple users already know about the issues regarding the devices and No one... Let me repeat "NO ONE" screams louder than product users regarding apples products and decision making. I guess I must not run with the crowd you describe because i Personally don't know of any iPhone users that act like Apple is being innovative when they do finally get a specific functionality. But if your disturbed by what you call the ridiculousness and fanboydom then use whatever pleases you, I for one will not be offended by your decision and I won't call other users out for using any device of their choice. Finally re: iPhone's in a corporate environment? My advice is simple just use another device that suits the corporate environment. It appears from your comment that Apple doesn't care and the corporate CEO fanboys (as you call them) don't either. Go figure. I guess they been bitten by the innovation bug ......:rolleyes: :rofl: Quote:

You must set up a MobileMe e-mail account in the iPhone or iPod touch's Mail app. You must enable Push in Settings: Mail, Contacts, Calendars. You must enable Find My iPhone for that MobileMe e-mail account (Settings: Mail, Contacts, Calendars: [MobileMe account name]. Your iPhone or iPod touch must be connected to the Internet. On a bberry I log into the BES and click reset. done. The fatal flaw with the iphone is that if it's not connected to the internet a thief can stay offline and grab all of your data. On a bberry, as long as the device is on and the radio is on, you can wipe it. |
Just for the record, I only have issues with the iphone in a corporate environment, whatever anyone uses personally I don't care, I dont have to support it ;)

dumbest thread ever.. next.. Barry.. you need to get a job... or a new hobby.. always interesting watching a guy with no experience argue with a CTO/VP of IT of some very large company. :rolleyes:

One thing for sure is I HATE AT&T. I get dropped calls every day and M-F between 4-6pm I can get as many as a half dozen in prime coverage areas. Pathetic. |
Thanks for the advice Josh.
I do have a profession and a hobby and contrary to popular belief I have discussed the issue regarding implementation of the iPhone into the corporate environment with more than one CTO/VP of IT and security of (as you say) some very large companies right here in the Bay Area. All of the discussions I have had with these people have explained in detail their issue from a technical standpoint regarding the iPhone and I understand the issues fully from a technical standpoint. The thread started out asking how the MM upgrade was going for us average users. That was the point of the thread. So If you saying my contribution made it a dumb thread then so be it. Your opinion is noted. Quote:

Okay, now that everyone is done ranting about off topic items from the OP. How's the MMS working on the iPhone this weekend? I've sent tons of pics to my iPhone buddies and so far so good.
There is always excitement on X5 World (oh no, I mean Xoutpost.com) when we have Barry & Josh on board! ;) |

Funny;
Someone sent me some pictures. I sent them to my wife's blackberry but the pictures were a no show. I thought it was the iPhone but come to find out she got the same pictures that were sent to me and they still didn't show up. |
