Let him go, it was 40 years ago....He had sex with a 13 year old, fry his ass....He was traumatized after his wife was brutally murdered, give the guy a break.

I didn't see this earlier or I would have piped in. No way should this guy get away. It doesn't matter what the entertainment industry says or even his victim. a) he drugged and had sex with a minor and b) he skipped bail. he should do whatever time is coming to him just like any other pedophile that jumped bail. No exceptions. Condoning his actions is sick too. IMO.

Should have done time no matter how you put it...however if the prosecutors and judge at that time made mistakes regarding the 'handling' of the case then thats their problem...

Not sure what the laws were back then...but they should have taken his passport to prevent him from running away....

He is supported by Woody Allen. Nuff said.

I read in the paper this morning that there are a bunch of actors/entertainers that signed some type of petition supporting him. Wow.

Does anyone know: What is the Statute of Limitations on statutory rape?
I know there's no time limit on a murder prosecution, but what about this? I would imagine it's run out:dunno:

Or does the fact that he is a fugitive on an admitted "Guilty" plea sort of "freeze" the clock from a legal standpoint?

Other than the legal curiosity, I really do not feel strongly about this case either way. Although I do think it's funny how the French seem to think that artistic brilliance excuses everything. It's OK to rape and kill as long as you can paint pretty pictures or direct movies. Vive la France!:cheer:

France has really nothing to do with this...they have a no extradition policy under no circumstances....as other countries ... EDIT: might be wrong on that ...

I'm sure there are people there who despise him as much as they do here...and vice versa...

Drugged and raped a 13 year old.
Admitted guilt, on a plea bargain for a reduced sentence.
Jumped bail and fled.

Fry him, for both the original charge and for the failure to appear.

sodomy? 13yr old? He should fry - I'm sick of seeing high profile people walk on anything from assault, rape, to murder.
