BMWCCA Oktoberfest 2009 Atlanta photos...

Here are some photos taken from the BimmerMeet at BMWCCA's Oktoberfest 2009. Please excuse the photography as I am no expert by any means. These photos are bush league at best. I just wanted to share some of what I saw. For those who don't know, Oktoberfest took place at Road Atlanta in Braselton Georgia and the Lake Lanier area over a week's time. However, these photos are from Saturday at Road Atlanta.

These photos were taken from my Dad's 1991 850i as we did parade laps around Road Atlanta.

Nice set of pics!
Looks like a good time...some of those
oldies but goodies are amazing, as are the
full tilt boogie race cars.
Is that your white M3 in the staging line?

I wish that was mine. I was referring to James Clay's blacked out e92. Besides our X5, I have an e36 325i with 298,000 miles. Unfortunately, it is just not in good enough shape to do any DE's. I was just there as a spectator. :(

It was a good time. There were a decent number of cars at the BimmerMeet, but there were many more at the Lake Lanier events throughout the week.

You know what? After all the photos I took, none of them are a clear shot of my my Dad's 850i. Not sure how that happened. I also realize now that I should have downsized the photos slightly to fit better on the page. If you look at photos 1 and 3 and scroll over to the right, you will see the nose of his car. It is a 1991 with only 58,000 miles, Calypso red, with a bone gray-ish interior (not sure of exact color), Remus Exhaust and performance chip. It got tons of looks and comments. I personally love the car, but was very surprised how many people commented on it. Especially, with all the other nice cars there. I will say that nearly 20 years after this car was made, BMW still doesn't make a car that has the street presence of the 8 series. It is such a big, wide coupe that it just demands attention. We actually got two thumbs up just driving to Oktoberfest from non-BMW drivers.

Next time I am at my parents house, I will try to remember to snap a few photos of the car and update this thread.

:iagree: One of my favorite BMWs. Hopefully the next 6-series or the CS if goes into production will have street presence like 850. The thought of buying a 850CSi has crossed my mind several times. The cost of maintenence pushes it away. :)
