Good thermometer recommendation?

I'm deeply disappointed with the quality of thermometers offered at CVS and Walgreens. They are often inconsistent and imprecise in measurements.

I don't need a fancy uber-hitech device. I just want to be able to take temperature readings under an arm reliably, precisely, confidently. Any suggestions of brands and models?

Thanks!

There is no such thing as an accurate axillary (under arm) temperature. It is so imprecise, we don't allow it to be done in the hospital. The "rule" you may have heard to add a degree to get an oral equivalent is bunk, also.

I grew up using axillary temperature to determine how bad the fever is. I guess it is time to change old habits instead of finding a "perfect" thermometer...
