weird 24fps - 30fps fluctuations in 2012?
anyone else notice? saw 2012 tonight with my cousin and noticed -- esp towards the end -- that the frame rate kept changing from the film-standard 24fps to the home video cheesy 30fps. very weird.

NOBODY noticed this?!?!?!
|
have not seen it as of yet. How was it otherwise?
|
obviously it was absent any proper story in the true sense of the word, but insofar as being a positively entertaining movie, it was superb. in fact, the special effects visuals were absolutely brain numbingly intense and totally convincing. i've definitely got certain images permanently burned in my brain for years to come. and the sense of looming disaster and "this is it, this is the end" feeling was conveyed quite well, without ever really falling over into the dreaded "cheesy romantic." any sense of emotion or hint of romance was, for the most part, sufficiently restrained, i thought.
my only real gripes: a few "common sense" stupidities that simply defied reason (why take-off in an airplane only to fly THROUGH falling buildings instead of, well, up and over them?!) anyway, if you're sufficiently bored one night, it's worth watching on the big screen if only for the sheer spectacle. you might not "like" it, per se, but you can't deny its entertainment value. enjoy. |

2012 indeed fluctuates from 24FPS to 30FPS
I noticed this!
I saw it yesterday, 1. Its one of the worst movies I have ever seen, i didn expect anything anyways but still, just horrible. 2. As for the framerate, wow I could'nt believe it, it looked like I was watching Television. What the hell is that all about? |
could be rendering error from the studio lol
|
anyvbody else?? any thoughts? because it just went on and on and on towards the end of the film, and i've tried googling it but finding nothing on it ....... soooooo weeeeeeird
|
After seeing this movie I was so weirded out by the 30fps near the end that I searched Google and this is the only site that had reference to it.
I can't believe that the DOP (or whoever chose this) decided to go with 30fps. Maybe they thought no one would notice? |
