Welcome to the age of Managed Care. Utilization goals outweigh patient care. It will get MUCH worse before it gets any better. I pay a premium for premium insurance for me and my family. In the last year my Premium PPO has become just like any other HMO in terms of paperwork and patient care.

There is no such thing as unbiased research on a topic that requires judgments based cost/benefit analysis. ACOG has political junkies the same as any other organization.

No question about judgment, but still not clear on bias? More tests means more money for the medical professionals and the equipment manufacturers. Clear bias pro testing for them.

You don't know how these studies are done. Almost always they are done by docs working in academia, who are usually on salary. They actually usually practice only part-time, and do research and teaching the bulk of their workloads. These docs make names for themselves by showing that what everyone else in their specialties are doing is wrong, and these academic docs can show them the "better way". They involve a statistician and an economist, who assign dollar values to various things, like "fear", and "false positive", and "stress".

I'm tired of you making statements that are befuddeling. So we're even.

For example:

"I think that The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology is providing unbiased research."

Based upon what?
Why do you feel that way?
Are you affiliated with them?
Do you know someone that works there?
Are you involved in the industry?

More background info would have been helpful.

Complete and total BS driven by economic strategy on health care. After decades of dealing with family members with cancer, I'll tell you right now NOT A SINGLE ONE found out AFTER 50 that they had it. Sad, really sad.
