Computer File Save Question...
Sorry for the dbl post...dunno what glitched the first time?
Remedial 'puter question: when I save a file to Docs, the lil'window always asks me "how" I want to save it: -Web Page Complete -Web Archive...single file -Web Page HTML -Text File Which one should I use, or does it depend on what kind of thing I'm saving to Docs? I realize this is not even 'puter 101...more like Remedial 099, :D Thanks. Ol'PuterStupid |
1) Web Page Complete saves the HTML and any referenced images locally. The HTML is modified to point to your locally saved images. A system folder containing the images is created where you save the file.
2) Web Page Archive is the same as 1 but the images are encoded and imbedded in the file rather in a separate directory. It's in a Windows specific format so you can't view it on another OS. 3) Web Page HTML is unmodified HTML. Images are retrieved from the original server. 4) Text file is unformated text of what you see rather than HTML. It's basically what you would get if you selected the page, copy and pasted into notepad. Which one you use depends on why you are saving it. |
Rayxi: Thanks for the good info...definitions that I actually understand!
