Guess what came in the mail today!

Well among other important things, such as: Two Netflix movies, Bavarian Autosport catalog, and Profile, the news letter of the Granite State chapter of the BMWCCA, came something I really was not expecting. Well, it was for my mom, but.. Lovering Volvo sent my mom a birthday card... I didn't know dealerships did this! Tulley never did it for me. Anyway, I'm split between thinking that it's a nice touch and thinking that it's creepy. I guess they're just trying to get more involved in your life than just being your car dealer.. But still, it's wierd..

I get a postcard on my bday from my dealer every year. Agincourt Audi also did this, when I had an A6.

Hmm... I didn't get one from BMW.. OUTRAGEOUS! :p Our Audi dealer hasn't once contacted us with anything, much less a birthday card... They are a horrible dealer.

Everyone here at X5world tried wishing you a Happy Birthday earlier this month - but it turned out to be a CJ imposter :bustingup

It's called marketing :D .... The real fun is once you get letters and brochures sent to "Ms. Jan Mark Holzer", guess my the folks around me must think I am freak as I get all the interesting cataloges (Victoria's Secret, Women Sports etc...)
Once you know how companies such as Acxiom collect their data it is quite scarry and entertaining at the same time. Having worked with many of these companies it is still amazing how much they know about you and your buying patterns. Also the IRS will buy data from these companies ....

Btw I haven't received birthday card from Tulley either

I'm going in tomorrow afternoon anyway, too. They installed my iPod adaptor and it didn't work, so.. tomorrow afternoon I get to visit Jay Van Sciver, my new best friend! I'll talk to him about the card.
