Florida Gang...

How is everyone enjoying this fine January Saturday, here in FLA?! :wow:

41 degs F, raining, breezy and fookin "miserable", here in Naples...heading for below freezing by Sunday night...

I would guess anyone further "north" in the peninsula, especially
inland, is bracing for a hard freeze and maybe "flurries".

I am ready to spend winters in Cuba or, somewhere further south, in the Caribbean. :D

Best you can hope for in Cuba right now is mid 70's. I'm in California highs in the 60's lows in 30 clear sky's 40 cloudy. Most of Mexico is in the 60's.

So much for Global Warming...Having the Global Warming summit on this particular year was very unfortunate for their cause.

I'll be in Boston Mon-Wed next week so I'm preparing for temps in the 10-20 deg range.

It's freakin' cold here today! 38 degrees F as the high. We are not used to this.

:iagree:

Hellsbells, Doc: We've only been down here for the season since
mid Nov., and I am already FlawRaDuh-ized, temp-wise. ;)

We are freezing too! We have had more cold/rainy weather thus far in
8 weeks than we have had in the previous 4 seasons combined.

However, a neighbor back on the Mtn reports a 7th day of zero at
night with "highs" of single digits, at 5,000 feet...so, I'll take FLA for winter.
Where is AlGore when we need him. :D

I've been outside covering the "tropicals"; gonna be a tough couple
of nights on the Zone 10 stuff.

I think I've acclimated to this cold weather; I've gone running the past couple days in below freezing weather and I frankly don't care about the cold anymore.

Global warming sucks, doesn't it???!!!!!!

i'm trapped in 38 degrees and rain here on sanibel... so much for sunny vacation

Today the shop didn't have water for the first few hours as the pipes froze last night! It's getting down to 19 degrees tonight where I'm going... brrrrr. Whiskey will at least make me feel warm and fuzzy inside :D

Also, has an X3 come in with a water leak in the back, couldn't dry it out as it still had ice on the carpet throughout the day... can't vacuum out water when it's solid! Damn I can't wait for it to warm up, I'm about ready to go spray aresol cans outside to speed up "global warming" :tapping:

I agree we went for a 4 mile walk at Jones Beach on Sunday and it was really nice. In NYC the weather is cold but a high of 28 vs normal 34 is not that bad.

It seems like its almost as cold in FL and the relative reduction in temperature is much greater. No reason to go to FL this year when its almost as cold.

Yesterday morning I for the first time had to clear 1/2 inch of ice from inside my rims before getting on the highway... and after the mud road I had to drive down to get to the camp I'm getting a set of 18" wheels with all season all terrains for the X as I really had to drive carefully with the 20" michelins. But I outdrove my friend who got his 4x4 chevy stuck! :nanana: (he had to be pulled out by a BMW, and hated it!)

Now I just gotta go to a pressure wand car wash to get all the mud from under my baby... then next time soak everything under her and in the wheel wells with tireshine/cooking oil/baby oil to keep the mud from sticking.

But at the hunting camp there were acres of woods with 6" of standing water that froze over with 1/2" thick ice!
