Another wierd happening

In Profile, the newsletter of the Granite State BMWCCA chapter, they have a breakdown of where the members of our club come from. I'm one of the 8.7% from Merrimack county. What I found odd, though, is that there are 11 members from Maine, 8 from Vermont, 32 from Massachusetts, 3 from Rhode Island, and 2 from Connecticut! Vermont and Maine I would assume have their own chapter, but maybe not... Now Mass. and CT surely have their own... Why join one out of state? Quite confusing..

BTW: Does being a BMWCCA member obligate me to go to any events? Because I havent gone to any.

Kewl X5 03-29-2005 05:54 PM

No. You don't have to go to any events. You'll get a monthly magazine called Roundel and whatever local chapter your hooked up with, you'll get a monthly to bi-monthly newsletter.

The out of state members are most likely members who joined the WMC for a WMC sponsored driving event (such as Cabin fever driving school etc...) . There are also a number of member who have dual-member ship with other chapters (for example I am a member of the WMC and Boston chapter).

That's what I assumed, after a lot of careful consideration :D .. Are you still in Bedford or did you move to Boston?

There are a ton of kids at my school from Bedford. 90 kids out of 130 in the freshman class come from Bedford.

How is Logan these days? As someone who uses it a bit, do you think they have tightened up security at all?

Chris F. 03-29-2005 06:40 PM

Hey CJ, you can do this to them....

Logan is still a mess traffic whise, on the security side any US airport I know is still miles behind most airports in Europe and/or AP (Tokyo, Australia).
I don't think we'll see the day where there's no construction at Logan. I only use Logan for international travel not for domestic.

IMO, Logan is one of the worst, if not THE worst airport ever. We use it a lot, if we're going internationally. It's all under construction b/c of the big dig and the terminals are crowded and sometimes dirty. I hate it. We're now trying to fly out of Manchester as much as possible, because they're expanding the options for flights by a lot. We flew from Manchester-Newark-Copenhagen-Gothenburg when we went to Sweden to pick up the Volvo, but it was worth all the plane changes just to avoid Logan. It's that bad. I have Logan to look forward to in April (going to NC) and in June (going to Spain with the school)

Woah, thats harsh! :wow:

I know everyones parents may seem to be A-holes at one time or another, but it pays to keep on their good side for the long run, so don't go dissing them on a public board like this.

I do have a similar situation with my father, where he isn't the brightest of dad's and is having major money problems and won't take my advice on how to deal with them, but I don't go around telling people he's an idiot or anything.

Choose your path wisely ;)

My mom, I can deal with.. But my dad just doesn't know how to be a father. He is really a jerk and he KNOWs I hate him.. I dont make it a secret. But my parents are so... numb. They're old and they don't realize it's not the 1950s anymore..

motordavid 03-29-2005 07:45 PM

CJ: "They're old and they don't realize it's not the 1950s anymore..."

I thought they were less old than me? What's old these days?
Hey, no lectures, but you're a testosterone driven teen...about 5 or 6, or 10 yrs from now, ol'M&D will seem a lot smarter to you.

Where/when you going to NC?

I dunno... My mom, like I said, is fine.. But my dad is very moralistic, to the point of being blind to common sense. He is on a single-handed crusade to save modern culture. I want to just lead a normal teen life, so we butt heads as you can imagine. My parents are both in their late 60s... My mom is turning 67 next week.

I'm going to North Carolina in April, I think towards the end of the month. We're staying in Kitty Hawk, but we'll be traveling around. I don't know exactly where we're going. I'm going with my friend's family. I went to New Bern and the Southern Outer Banks last year and I loved it. NC is one of my favorite places.

OBX,NC are beautiful, though nearly 500 miles east of here and 5000 vertical feet lower in elevation.
