There is always 2 sides to a story and I always try to see the other side if there is one. But this? Hmmm. And the statement "It was not clear why the grenade exploded." I can explain that. THATS WHAT GRANADES DO!!! Pin in pin out thats what it's all about.

BANJA LUKA, Bosnia (Reuters) - A hand grenade being used instead of a ball in a game of catch exploded early on Saturday killing three youths in this Bosnian town, police and news agencies said.

Two youths aged 19 and 20, one of them from neighboring Croatia, were killed instantly while a 20-year-old woman died on her way to hospital, police said. Her sister was slightly injured but two other youths suffered serious injuries.

The blast occurred at 2:00 a.m. in the western town of Novi Grad at a place in the town center frequented by youngsters. Police said an inquiry was under way and declined further comment. It was not clear why the grenade exploded.

ONASA news agency quoted witnesses as saying the youths tossed the hand grenade to each other before it exploded in the hands of one of them.

Bosnia is awash with illegal weapons left over from the 1992-95 war and tragic incidents are frequent despite several successful campaigns by international peacekeepers and police to get people to hand over illegal weapons.

Since I have employees in Bosnia, and have extensive travel and experience down there in the area since the beginning of US involvement, I will share some thoughts regarding this incredibly stupid act.

One immediately wants to laugh at the stupidity of this act, and one would think that this SHOULD have happened. I mean, come on, since it happened around 1 am, obviously alcohol was involved.

But this country is an absolute dump, with little or nothing to do. Now I cannot imagine me being so bored (OR DRUNK) that I would get into a pickup game of dodge the grenade, but I still drive down roads (once even in the X5) with land mines on both sides of the road. It is not uncommon to see a farmer walking his cow on the road for fear of blowing up his prized big mac.

There is a really shocking lack of education for these kids and life is pretty dark (for us folks) down there. I have seen kids kicking around a can playing soccer and laughing the whole time. I could not imagine any American kids having fun doing that.

There are a great number of very talented people (at least in the IT field) that work for me down there. But for everyone of them, there are at least 3 war crimminals, 2 mafia soldiers, maybe 1 or 2 Al Queda wannabes, and definitely 1,000 completely stupid people. These stupid people also raise stupid kids. The sad thing is that they cannot learn from this mistake because they are dead.

Do not be surprised at the stupidity of this act, because what they did not report are the smaller kids (much more innocent) who are maimed by these things every day. There are grenades and landmines down there just like there are empty coke bottles here lying around. And there are no deposit returns for either anymore.

EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION. They say the Americans are not as smart as other countries, but.....................
