What are you doing this weekend?

Doing anything fun?

Its going to "wintry mix" here, so I'm thinking get my place clean and get some work done. I'm really tempted to jump on the road and head down to Florida though... Only 500 miles, right?

cmyX6go 01-29-2010 09:52 AM

I'm so glad this God forsaken week is coming to an end. Got my butt kicked this week. Busy next week too.

My plans....I'm not telling :p:

AzNMpower32 01-29-2010 10:30 AM

I'm tempted to go skiing at Snowshoe but at $75 for a lift ticket and with WV and VA being utter failures at road clearing, I think I'll save myself another trip into a field. Plus, furniture is coming this weekend so I have to be home.

Dani 01-29-2010 10:32 AM

All I know for sure is what I won't be doing again this weekend.
I won't be sticking a peg in the ground.
High tomorrow is 31F w/ freezing rain.:(
I just keep telling myself this too shall pass.....

dirtdevilnc 01-29-2010 10:43 AM

Talking about 5-7" inches of snow here in Raleigh, you would think the weather man said 5-7 feet ! Bread and milk, everyone make sure they have enough bread and milk.
I am also very tempted at the prospect of a new to me 3 series. Found a 335i 4 door with 6 speed with decent mileage after looking for quite some time. Unfortunately it is in Georgia and in all of this weather mess that is supposed to be coming across the area i am not sure if i will want to make that trip :(

darkside4.8 01-29-2010 10:47 AM

if it was an xi that trip would be fun.
i'd welcome 31 degrees right now. its about 14 with wind chill in the negative temps in CT.
i'll be watching movies eating popcorn all weekend til this passes.

X-cellent 01-29-2010 10:48 AM

Pulling up old landscaping. Ive got six cat palms in front of my house that are now 6' tall and block all my windows.

Yeah, yeah...boohoo for me, it'll be 80 and raining (new high record tobe broken on sat)....

We'll get our cold weather next week when I'm moving boats into a boat show..always seems to blow up, get cold, rainy and nasty out when it comes time to move into a show.

StanF18 01-29-2010 11:00 AM

Front row seats to Devils-Maple Leafs tonight with the wifie and my son. Hit the gym tomorrow (chest, back, tris). Floor seats to Nets-Sixers on Sunday.

P.S. Not even close to rich, just have a couple of good contacts....;)

I would count on more than just 7" in the Triangle area. They're saying about 10" (22cm) is possible, which is probably devastating for y'all.

Going to the 2010 Washington Auto Show

You would think that with all of the relocated Yankees down here it would be just like back home :)
Either way I have lots of beer and plenty of food to hold me over.
With that amount of snow will probably be Monday before I could drive to Georgia.

TQ2K 01-29-2010 11:45 AM

Get the car back together...

You'd think, then some hick in a dually truck will plow into you at a light because "its gotter hemi"
I have xDrive on my E90 and I don't even try. I won't even lose traction with my crappy RFT's, but its the other people I'm worried about.

motordavid 01-29-2010 04:42 PM

What's a "weekend"?!
Oh yeah, it's those Saturday & Sunday days... ;)

Chased the ball today, probably chase it again tomorrow,
and chill on Sunday, unless the CEO has us chasing it with
another couple. Then, I think I'm chasing the ball again on
Monday down the road, at another track.
My hands are getting sore... :D

how are those tires on that snow eh?

AzNMpower32 01-30-2010 10:37 AM

The forecast changed overnight. Now it's 15-20cm snow in central VA forecasted, and it's a chilly -9°C outside right now. I am gonna have so much fun in either the 3er or X3 this afternoon......;)

On the topic of travel: Travel is not recommended in central, western, and southern VA today. VDOT has done such a good job of treating the interstates that most of them are in Moderate or Severe condition.

It is and is undergoing maintenance work.

Meiac09 01-30-2010 12:32 PM

wow... looks like a big project.

I'm now laughing at the ineptitude of the Southern people to clear a half inch of slush as it turns to ice and grinds this place to a halt for a few days.

Installed the following new components:
- Camshaft Position Sensors (4)
- Fuel Breather Valve
- Oil separators
- Temp Senors (3)
- Dinan Velocity Stacks
- Aux Fan
- Thermostat with Coolant flush
- Dinan CAI Filters

Cleaned the following
- Throttle Body Plates (8)
- Top and Bottom Plenum cover
- Radiator

At a slow pace putting it all back together right now as I'm not really in a hurry. The M5 hibernates during winter anyways so no driving duties expected out of it.

The X5 will undergo the same maintenance work next year for applicable components.

Perfect! Going on it's 2nd year with us and since we got it only regular maintenance needed and the best part is that since it's a "classic" model, the parts are pretty inexpensive.

- Replaced F&R brake pads and rotors with brake flush(07/2008)
- Replaced a vacuum tube and MAF to engine air intake tube(09/2009)

And the regular Oil change maintenance every 4K miles.

Hoping to get into an inexpensive lease with a new car and have the E30 relegated to a truly classic state and start some restoration work on it. It's got 120K miles on it now.
