SuperBowl...

Hope the 2nd is even slightly more invigorating to watch than the first half was. I love(d) The Who...
but, it may be dog track time for Daltrey and Townshend.

And, we need even more ads and, less plays...

At Half: a D, C-- on a curve.
And:

It's off to a good start.

I've been reading and posting the entire game. Way more fun than watching the game.

The Saints were impressive. The SB commercials & half-time show were not.

I liked this commercial...

This was live on the telly here in Oz and, having a rare day off (Monday here), I decided to watch it.
A few comments. I'm still trying to work out if the ads are more important than the football. Either way, it seems like a close call. Also, my American friends tell me that rugby is hard to understand - after watching that game that's going to be my new definition of the pot calling the kettle black. I've actually seen a few game of gridiron, both on the TV and when visiting the States, but I'm none the wiser as to the rules.
Anyway good to see New Orleans win after all that city has gone through.

In the U.S. the Superbowl is a huge party night. If you don't have any personal interest in the two teams playing (many don't as ther are plenty of other teams to root for) the commercials and socializing are even more fun. It is probably the biggest advertising night of the year.

I will agree with you as far as the rules go. I don't understand Aussie Rules one bit. NFL is what I understand.

I do know that some Aussie players seem to migrate over to the NFL because as punters and place kickers they can extend their careers a decade or more.

Even I don't understand Australian Rules 100%! Here in Australia we have four major codes of footy, Aussie Rules (played more in the south of the country, rugby union, rugby league (both played more in the north of the country, and soccer (increasingly played everywhere). Where I come from the rugby codes are by far the most popular (lots of crossover support) and anyone who follows Aussie Rules is, shall I say, frowned upon.

I have family in the Perth WA area. They seem to speak more about Aussie rules than anything else. I have also learned that Outback Steakhouse does not exist in Austrailia, nobody drinks Fosters beer (although I have a Carlton Cold in my refrigerator right now), everything is abbreviated with a "y" at the end (like telly for television) and coozies (beer can/bottle coolers) are called stubby coolers. :D Cheers!

Aussie Rules is the #1 footy game in WA. Some rugby union there as well. And it's part of our constitution that you abbreviate everything you can and then add a 'y' ... that applies in all parts of the country - north, south, east and west!
