Thread was pulled???

OK...so I went to respond in jest to the Apple privacy post only to find the ADMIN had removed the post??? I guess I was being traced!

anyway....for those who remember the topic, here's what I was going to say..

If I may interrupt for a second...

When I said I was a private person for the most part, it would refer to the personal information I share with others as to what is going on in my mind behind all the bong resin from years prior. As for what I'm doing on a daily basis as far as location or what I'm looking for on the internet, I don't care.

A few posts have referred to the word, "tracked." Lets not make this more than it is. Langley isn't following us (oooohhhh maybe they are...:bustingup.) Tracked is a scare tactic word that shields the true meaning of location based advertisements, etc. If they really want to know why I'm in Brooklyn, or NJ, or home, or at Lace (ooops, I didn't say that...never been there;),) who cares!

And to be honest, if you have the iPhone...don't worry, the network is so small for coverage, they probably won't find you anyway... (OK...don't hate on that last comment, just a playful joke...and yes I do have an iphone and blackberry with ATT and VZW.)

You may continue to the OP.

Thunder22 06-22-2010 03:54 PM

I asked for it to be deleted. It was getting out of hand and that's not what I intended to happen.

Kumbaya and all that shit :)

It was?????

I thought it was just a discussion...seemed fine to me....

Ok....off to the next topic...

nom3rcy 06-22-2010 03:57 PM

You asked for it to be deleted because it was getting out of hand or because you were wrong?

I would love to continue the discussion, as long as facts are backed up by linked sources and people refrain from using the term fanboi or kool-aid I think it could actually be a decent thread.

I like that....."K/B"

Never quite made it to the tab's....always liked the THC...it made my schooling bearable, yet kept me somewhat interactive....the tabs would have rendered me useless....(although some of my grade's might have already shown that...)

I wonder if you printed your own... :bustingup

Cool pic, K/B...I spent part of nearly every Sunday morning, in season and, if I was home, at the top of Bear Mtn, hanging with my m'cycle buds.

Very scenic and "remote-like" park, with beautiful roads and rugged country; all 35 miles north of Gotham City.

Quicksilver 06-22-2010 09:53 PM

THC.... Wow.

Maybe thats the reason some people seem to have a negative
obsession with Apple Computer and the people who use their
products. How else could one explain all the boring Fanboi and
Koolaid immature insults....

So just because a thread went down a road you didn't like, you can just request to have ENTIRE threads deleted? Has free speech disappeared from these forums? I know I'm not the most liked around here, but really...plenty of threads went down roads I didn't like either. Oh well.

Also, last I checked, swearing isn't permitted, so why do you get such preferential treatment around here? Rules are rules, aren't they?

Let me ask you this, what business is it of yours? You weren't involved in the other thread, and now you're involving yourself. And you wonder why people give you grief?

Regardless:

I started the other thread.
It became confrontational.
I asked a mod to delete it.
Story over.

If the other people want to talk about the ramifications of Apple's new privacy poicy, nothing is stopping them, they can start another thread.

And yes, I get preferential treatment around here. Deal with it ;)

Carry on.

Because fanboi's are annoying, myopic and blind defenders of all things Apple?

Just a thought.

By the way, this is the reason I bailed on the other thread. Tried to have a discussion and it denegratred. Thanks for proving my point.

Quicksilver 06-23-2010 10:28 AM

I wasn't talking to you but since you
brought it up why not admit it?
You bailed the other thread because
you were wrong and couldn't take the heat.:rofl:

And there we go again name calling and insulting
people again thus proving my point.

The future is a scary thing aint it.
Keep living and here are some things you can look forward to.

Get a seat when you want. When you take a bus, and you want to sit down. It sucks getting on a bus and not seeing an open seat. The older you are, the faster someone will be willing to give up their seat.

Three words: Senior citizens discount. You must be thinking of old people who get cheap stuff . They spend their whole life saving up their money, and for some reason; all of a sudden, their stuff is cheaper when they retire.

Then there’s the observation Booth: Just watching people who think
they know it all make a fool of themselves. You don’t have to be
senile to know when that’s happening.

I want to walk with a cane. Two kinds of people have canes: old people and pimps, and as far as I'm concerned, they're both equally awesome.
(To bad though I don’t own a cane. I have a gym membership instead.)

Oh never mind: To hell with SENILITY. I plan on maintaining my VIRILITY right up until the end! stirring the pot as often as I can......:wow:..:bustingup:bustingup

Quicksilver 06-23-2010 05:30 PM

Hey thunder;

Since you like pulling the Old card. This one is just for you.

Don't Mess With Old People

An old prospector shuffled into town leading an old tired mule. The old man headed straight for the only saloon in town to clear his parched throat.

He walked up to the saloon and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other. The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, ‘Hey old man, have you ever danced?’

The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, ‘No, I never did dance, — just never wanted to.’

A crowd had gathered quickly and the gunslinger grinned and said, ‘Well, you old fool, you’re gonna’ dance now,’ and started shooting at the old man’s feet. The old prospector, in order to not get a toe blown off or his boots perforated, was soon hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet and everybody was laughing.

When the last bullet had been fired the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers back. The loud, audible double clicks carried clearly through the desert air. The crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young gunslinger heard the sounds, too, and he turned around very slowly. The quiet was almost deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels. He found it hard to swallow. The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man’s hands.

The old man said, ‘Son, did you ever kiss a mule’s ass?’

The boy bully swallowed hard and said, ‘No. But I’ve always wanted to.’

There are two lessons for us all:
1. Don’t waste ammunition.
2. Don’t mess with old people.

I respect old age more and more every day.

On other subject what is the security issue with leaving the GPS on?
Is it any different from On Star and other services tracking your movement?

no security issue other than your knowing your location - just like OnStar and every other cell phone.

There is an issue with face time though - it isn't well secured (so make sure your network is) and whenever 2 people start using it Apple is notified of who and their location - according to an "insider source"

What they do with that info is anyone's guess - my guess is for market research but who knows.

E61Silver 06-24-2010 05:49 AM

I would think if you were engaged in criminal actives it might be a issue.

nom3rcy 06-24-2010 02:01 PM

In other words, don't use Face Time to share live video of your grow room with your buddies :)

Its everyones business since its a public forum....just because you started a topic doesnt mean you own it. Generally, I thought it was stupid that it got deleted since you didnt like the path it was taking.

Sure, some people dont like me here....big deal! Its the god damn internet, not my life. Sure, maybe you care about a webpage full of people that you may never meet, but I dont. My true friends have my number or are over at my house, not only knowing me by my screen name or IM address.

Great, youve got pull on the web....want a cookie?

I think the underlying message is that context matters, since vulgar language is in fact specifically mentioned.

m5james 06-29-2010 12:47 AM

I know JCL, I was kidding since i forgot about this thread and Michelle basically implied that its not against the rules to swear.
