C & D slams the new 5

I often read car and driver for entertainment and they have a known history for being partial to bimmers ( kind of like me haha). I almost dropped my spaten when I read this article in which they placed the f10 in 3rd (last) behind the m37 (2nd) and aging a6 (first). Major complaints were in regards to numb steering and the general transformation of the 5 series into a little 7er. I did not get a chance to drive the 535 but the 550 i drove seemed really nice. Maybe I am just being biased but I feel it is unfair to put the f10 behind the m37 lol O well, any one have any thoughts?

The bad thing is the steering feel could actually be changed with simple programming if BMW so chose. They loved the steering feel in the previous Z4, which was electric as well. My choices would be 550i, A6 supercharged, infinity in last.

Why didn't they test the 550i anyways? They chose the small engine option for testing...

I saw that as well. I haven't driven the new five, but I hope they aren't right regarding the steering feel. That is the most important part of a BMW, imo.

Thats what I was thinking but I was not sure if thats what they were referring to. They go on to state all these reasons it is great...best 0-60, brakes, quiet cabin, beautiful interior, etc. Before reading I thought it would take first and they would comment on its subtle styling being a bit reserved. Almost like they feel the need to prove they are not paid advertising agents for bmw lol

The only ones I've driven were ones I'd just PDI'd so it was a very short test drive, but the steering felt fine to me... but I wasn't paying extra attention to the steering feel anyways.
