Hitch-mounted bicycle rack

I am thinking about getting a hitch-mounted bicycle rack for my X5. I have the OEM hitch already. I would only be transporting 1 or 2 bikes. I have Thule crossbars for my roof rack, and like the Thule products. When I look at their product line, it really is overwhelming in the number of options. Any suggestions re: Thule, or any other I should consider?

Gotta stick with Thule, doc. Their products are second to none. There's also Yakima to consider.

BTW, is that LED rear lights you have there?

No, just stock tail lights in the bright Florida sunshine! :D

I once considered getting a rear bike carrier from BMW that mounts high on the rear glass since I don't have a hitch. But they cost too much (what else is new?). In your case the hitch-mounted is the way to go.

I was also looking for a rear bike carrier too since I do not have a hitch on my X5 either. What model did you look at? What price did you find? I have seen very cheap and very expensive ones.

I have the Thule hitch-mounted bike rack. Its been great so far, very sturdy and well designed. I'm not sure the model number, but I remember having to also get the hitch lock. What I didn't get was the one that swings open left to right to allow you to open the back without having to dis-mount all the bikes.

Can you check which model you have? They have some that look fairly similar for twice the price.

Sorry Statdoc I took so long. The link below shows the one I have. I bought the look separately for $30 (also Thule) at a local shop.

Thanks. I will check some local shops to see what they have, and then likely order one.
