Drove through South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas and Indiana.

I didn't really enjoy putting so many miles on the X5, but it took it well.

This is Northern NM. North of Ghost Ranch? (Just south of the Colorado border.)

Not Quite. This is Wyoming. In or near Buffalo Bill state park.

However, now you make me want to visit Northern NM.

Wow! sounds like an awesome trip - I always try to stop & see 1-2 attraction along the way between ID & SC - used to be young & foolish doing "speed runs" from ID to NJ - my best (worst?) was 36hr/2300+miles, that includes sleep time. Man, nomore!

Yes.

This trip, I drove only during daylight so I could see the sights. And going 50 miles or so out of the way to see some attraction was a plus - not a negative. If I was not traveling with a friend who was getting uncomfortable in the car, I might have hit a few more states.

Impressive mileage...theCEO & I are thinking of a ~3+ week Road Trip next summer; sort of a redux of our 5 cross country motorcycle trips we did back in the '90s,
but this time in a car. Not a neophyte to car trips or, riding around the Big Western states, but any tips/ideas would be welcome.

The daily mileage, day after day, to get to the places we want to revisit, (or see for the first time), wear one down. And, the per diem expense of living in motels,
and 3 meals + bevs, add up. Would enjoy hearing your methods, since you travel so much by car...we are thinking of cranking the ol'Vette, in lieu of the ol'X5, fwiw.
