Snow Snow Snow
We got another snow storm last night, over a foot of snow. Schools are closed and NYC is digging out. We still have February which is normally a big month for snow.
My 535XIT has 4 wheel drive but does not have the ground clearance of a X5. It is sitting safe and warm in a heated garage. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._3811359_s.jpg |
My X5 is loving it. I've also got Nokian winter tires fitted and it's just an all around blast to drive in the snow/slush.

central CT reporting here... on my way to work i tried to plow through a mound of snow at the base of my driveway... almost made it. i had to get out the window and start shoveling my X out. it was an issue of ground clearance. i got up on the snow and pretty much had the front wheels up in the air, no weight on them at all.
got out after a bit of shoveling. between the neighbors plow putting all the snow in front of my drive way, the town trucks and the fact my driveway hadn't been touched yet it made for a interesting morning. a cop was driving by and stopped to watch and block on coming traffic (i live on a busy road and my nose was almost sticking out, then when he saw me lean up on the shovel he hopped out and lent a helping hand. i tried to buy him a coffee but he respectfully declined. plus one for law enforcement. either way i finally got out and realized that if i had a couple more inches of ground clearance i would have been fine. we're supposed to get more too in NE. no clue where people are going to put all this snow... i wish we hibernated like bears. |
It is a little chilly here today!!!

Car washes are making lots of money these days. My parents and I took all 3 cars to the wash and that was around $35 total. I've just recently found out about the "undercarriage wash" and have seen it work for the first time on the X6 and 325xi yet didn't get it for the winter workhorse X5.
