Sprint announcement
I am a Sprint customer, for better or worse, and was eagerly awaiting the bug announcement yesterday. Sprint had a big party planned with magician David Blaine performing. It was supposed to be a groundbreaking announcement. It was not.
The introduced the Kyocera Echo dual screen handset. :dunno: http://www.pcworld.com/article/21898...us_waters.html How disappointing. I don't want a Nintendo DS for a phone. With no attractive handsets in the near future, Sprint's days are numbered with me. :( |
So what's next??:dunno:

It all stinks. We're really pretty much prisoners of our cell phone companies unless you go off the grid and ditch the technology for a roll of coins and a very short list of nearby payphones. |
I'm in the same sprint boat, and have to decide if I want to stay with them or ditch, and who to ditch to. I don't demand too much on a phone, probably any smartphone with a decent physical keyboard will work really as long as it is proficient enough with online speeds to let me do what I want. If I stay with sprint I may try the samsung 4g phone to replace the samsung 3g one I currently have.
Where I'm having trouble deciding is due to my upcoming move to off the grid... I like the sprint plan/price and like the "any mobile, anytime" part of it as most of my calls are to mobile phones of other carriers. But none of the carriers really have decent coverage where I'm going so it may all be up to just getting a signal amplifier/repeater... and I'm not sure how I feel about the one sprint offers as it transfers the calls through an online connection and doesn't have the greatest range for where I'll be using it. |
OT...

(Actually, it's a phone from our daughter's service; you know, the Ol'Rents are all on their Kidz Plan.) |
