GL, mD http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...ction_edit.jpg |
The car in the last photo is really special.
|
Thanks for sharing - I'm blown away by some of those cars, especially the 1957 Testarossa 500 TRC and the Auburn. What a collection of F cars to see as well.
|
Very nice pics! Thanks for sharing.
|
Nice shots MD! I like car shows like this, a wide-ranging collection of 'neat stuff'.
Some random thoughts:
|
Hellsbells, JCL...I was walking around shooting, jostling my way through the 'old people', and then trying to recall what the hell I 'saw' through the view finder, a week later!
This wasn't a research assignment, and just wait until you are my age. ;) Thanks for all the looks and kind words; I know there is a lot of dough here in SW FLA, but seeing these cars reminds me of how much. I really lust after F Cars, I have come to realize. BR, mD |
Nice collection there! It looks like another day in the life of the ol' retired bum was well spent. ;)
That '57 Chevy is one of my favorites there. I can't say why because I am a modern car guy but it's cool. Those 7ers are HIDEOUS and further proof that money doesn't buy taste. Whenever I see an AC I assume it's a rep unless it's in Jay Leno's garage or a museum. JCL: You never cease to amaze! |

The Morgan was easy, as the Brits saw no need for collapsible front bumpers on a vehicle with an ash frame. An aquaintance had a replica (plastic) 35 Auburn boat tail speedster, and the Momo or equivalent steering wheel in this one was the first clue. Ford lost the GT40 name due to lack of use, so they had to call their tribute model simply a Ford GT. And I just remember the Beach Boys song from the 8 track tape I had in the '66 Mustang, back when you were running that Chevelle. Looks like you had a great time, and V looks patient. Reminds me of D at Goodwood, she was a good sport too. J |
Great pics MD.
|
WOW that was fun......
After looking at all the rides you and V had to be ready for some serious food and drink. Thanks for the Pics B&R |
Niiiiice!
What great cars. Looks like you guys had a great time. Thanks for sharing, mD. Juan |
Oddly enough my favorites are the first two. I'd love to have a 427 cobra... even with the goofy reverse reading speedometer. :D And the T-buckets just look like so much fun... I just wouldn't go with the common 350 powerplant. My favs I've seen at shows used old flatheads, but I think it would be really fun/interesting to go out of the box and put a modified BMW V12 (from old 7/8 series) with 12 individual carbs with velocity stacks and zoomies!

The Lotus is an Elise not an Elan.
|
F40 is my favorite all time. Hate to admit that as a BMW nut. Nice pics, thanks for sharing.
Scott |
thanks for sharing. nice pics :)
|
Awesome pics, I need to get back to naples....grew up spending winters down there but I haven't been in almost 10 years. It's a beautiful place to relax.
|
Uncle Motor, the color saturation in those pics is unreal, nice work! :wow:
|
Nice car show.
The countach reminds of the poster I had in my room while growing up. Is that a red X6 in this pic? did you miss that on purpose? ;) http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...s2-12-11LR.jpg |

Ah, you are an EagleEye, LM!
The very small contingent of BMWs were parked quite closely together, and I didn't wait for the couple of ol'rich fat guys oogling it to clear the shot. Here's that red X6M...very nice car, but not the belle of the ball at this gathering. BR, mD |
Thanks.

Nice Work MotorDavid. Thanks for sharing.
|
Terrific pics! Thanks for sharing!
|
Great photos MD. Bunch of nice cars there. I have only seen a handful of the BMW 3.0's in real life. That is one of the few vintage BMW's that really gets me excited. Thanks for sharing.
Also, you are right about the brake rotors on the Ferrari. Wow! P.S., Your wife was a good sport to tag along with you. Mine would have been bored out of her mind. |
Looks like a darn good time. Thanks for the pics! :)
