Driving a 4.8is down to florida next week.
 

hey guys,

coming down to florida next weekend (bradenton/sarasota/longboat key). Gonna take the 20 hour drive in my friends 4.8is, should be ridiculously interesting. Any florida members interested in grabbing a beer? mD, are you anywhere near this? i'd love to meet in person..

We are in Naples, (the poor side), a bit less than 2 hrs south of Sarasota...
dunno which weekend you mean, but it is Friends Roll By the FL Starter Shack
Season: we have friends from NC in this weekend, and another batch from Beantown
next weekend. I would like to meet too, but time and logistics may be tough for me.
Let me know some firmer days/dates...

It's a long azz haul from upstate NY, but weather is Chamber of Commerce quality here in SW FLA since about Feb 1st.

As I just edited my post, I'll be around Sunday the 20th. If you want to do halfway drive (hour each) sometime during that week, I'd be very interested.

Have fun with the drive. Watch out for cops in bama, the last time I did that, I had two behind me from border to border.

When a police car tails me, I just turn off somewhere (petrol station, parking lot, residental area, anywhere) and let them bother someone else. :rolleyes:

In Virginia: the nicer the weather (esp. weekends), the more police. Oh, and food is taxed at 9%-11% so don't be surprised if that fast food costs more than expected.
