Very interesting a pretty smart idea indeed. It is not explained here but I assume that a special pulley needs to be added to the end of the engine crankshaft to fit the toothed belt of the electrocharger.

You're probably right about that, though they claim the only vehicle-specific parts will be mounting hardware. The tax deduction you can take on the purchase can offset the cost of the work :D It recharges by using the kinetic energy of braking. It oughta charge real fast in an X5!

On the FAQ section, it claims to shave at least 3 secs off your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. It also claims that the system is completely autonomous- no misfiring. If it ain't too much $$$, I'd consider it.
