Respect: Just speaking from personal experience. Niels, the fun factor outweighs any issues you may encounter. 4 year warranty, 3 year maintenance free! In addition, you will be unique. You won't see 6 other cars that look like yours every time you take a drive :).

I have to say that I question how accurate a JD Power Survey is.

While this could have a hint a realism, I can't subscribe. We are on our second Cooper S with zero and I mean zero issues. There will be a third in our stable. Greg, how you liking the JCW package?............Phil

I do think a BMW or Mini is more prone to issues than a Toyota. It is also possible that initial model years had problems.

I just don't trust think initial quality tests mean much especially when surveyed by a for profit firm.

Excellent. Its not like Mini was in the top 70% and missed the top 90% by a vote or 2. Mini came in DEAD last.

Can you please explain how the fact that JD Power isn't a non-profit has anything to do with the results of their surveys? Are you insinuating that they are being bought off?

Thanks.

I find the JD Power ranking very surprising...my in laws have had two, with zero problems, a neighbor has one; loves it, and a couple owners here have not had any real problems, either. Would never have guessed that.

Wish I wasn't so burned by VW customer service...the TDI is a helluva value.
