Was Strauss-Kahn, set up?

From Euronews:

France was left stunned and excited by news revealed in the
American media that the sex assault case against Dominique
Strauss-Khan could collapse due to relevations surrounding the
accuser’s credibility.

“I’m happy to see that not everything was black or white. There
was a little bit of grey in there. So now let’s see the decision
tonight,” said one Parisian.

The dramatic twist in the tale has raised the possibility of a return
to French politics for the man known by his initials, DSK.

Until his arrest, Strauss-Khan was considered the best-placed
Socialist candidate to challenge the French President Nicolas
Sarkozy in next year’s election.

Socialist party leader, Martine Aubry, said: “I would like to say
that hearing the news in the American press last night gave great
joy to me and those close to Dominique. I sincerely hope that
American justice will allow the whole truth to come out and
release Dominique from this nightmare.”

Although many of his supporters are delighted with the turn of
events, some believe that even if his name is cleared too much
damage has been done for him to be electable.

I think he was set up but not by political rivals or a tabloid creating a story. I think the woman was setting him up for financial gain. There are unconfirmed (at this point) reports that the woman was recorded in a conversation with her boyfriend who is in federal custody for immigration violations wherein she tells him that she has a plan with DSK and that he is very rich and she knows what she is doing.

She is not a victim, she is a liar and a cheat. She has also done damage to future victims in that their credibility will be questioned becaue of examples of false allegations by people like this woman.

what a surprise...not that I like the guy, but her line that 'he chased me while coming out of the shower' screamed bs...

After the IMF has replaced DSK and the Greek bailout pushed through, it's interesting how events are unfolding.

The guy is known to be sexual addicted. While this last story may fall apart it has made some others to surface which one of them will go to court in France.
Tristane Banon was a 23 years journalist in 2003 when she was brutally assaulted by DSK during a one on one interview. At the time her mom who was a political leader of the same side as DSK convinced her not to sue him. In today's French newspapers Tristane Banon's lawyer is saying that they will pursue suing DSK whatever happens with the US law suit.

What this whole tells me is that it's
very difficult to know who or what
To believe. Getting on the band
wagon to bash the accused isn't always
the best thing to do, and believing
others that come out may not be wise
either. After all who's to know what their
agenda is? :dunno:
