I test drove the '06 ML 350 also...........like the X much better, but ooooh that transmission shifted so smooth in that MB........couldn't even feel it.

Just slightly smoother than the 3.0.

Ian, I agree w/your road test. A guy at our golf club back on the mtn bought one:
body roll even on smooth, well cambered mtn roads is remarkably high. It Is diff than the X, and a lil' more refined to some eyes/feel, but I really prefer the X. His does have Xenons, however; US car? NEway, apples and not quite apples to me.
