Wow that looks awesome! Totally forgot about non matte colors for 3M slipped my mind. Reminds me of the movie Taxi for queen latifa. When they had he 7-series wrapped in blue while was originally red :p

Yeah, I should have noted that the M3 in the photo was just one I grabbed online and not a car that was wrapped with the 3M film. I was just trying to show how similar the color of the wrap was to the LSB paint.

Just got a quote for the above 3M Intense Blue film installed, $1,900. Not quite as cheap over here I guess.

Was this quote from 3M or their certified installer? That quote is on high side. The highest I have been quoted for X5 is $1500 by an installer. The material is between $250-$500 depending on car size. Its mostly labor intensive job.
Avery and Oracal are 3M competitors. You can get a quote from them too.

Below is pic of Gustav's(ex-M5board owner) M3 sedan. He put Oracal Azure film on his g-power tuned M3. Looks almost like Monte Carlo blue.

The nice thing about a wrap is that it is non-permanent and the cost compared to a proper full respray is incomparable.

Gustav's E90 M3 looks great!

Thanks, I will look into that. The quote I got was from a 3M certified installer, which I located on the 3M website. The quote was broken down as follows.

3M Scotchprint Wrap Film Series 1080-G47 Gloss Intense Blue @ $1000.00
7% Sales tax@ $70.00
Installation @ $900.00

Total @ $1970.00

and yes, that M3 does look good.

Does anyone have any photos of these cars with the doors open? I'm curious if the prices quoted include covering the door jams, trunk, etc. I imagine most people would not be content to open the doors, trunk or hood and see the original color contrasted with the wrap.

I thought about this as well. I wouldn't really like seeing a different color when opening doors, etc. The quote I listed abve did not include wrapping the door jams, trunk lid, hood, etc. Simply what you see on the exterior of the car.
