Air Play Speaker

I wanted a speaker for my I Phone, I Pad and Mac.

The latest technology is to use your WiFi to connect to the speaker wireless.

I found a great deal on Klipsch G17 $249.04, full retail is $500

It is supposed to sound better than most systems though the Zeppelin Air does sound better but costs $600.

With regard to Air Play you can utilize the same method with a non-Apple device thought the set-up is not quite as easy. It is better than a Bluetooth method since Bluetooth has compression.

I've been using airport express and Promedia 2.0 for years.

I like Airpower Express because it can travel with you, you can use it with a printer
to print wirelessly, and extend a wireless network, or use it with any set of
speakers you have.

I have a Airport Express as well use it at my vacation house.

I was looking for a self contained speaker/dock like a Bose Dock. At $249 the Kilpsch seems like a good deal and should sound better than Bose.

It is for the dinning room and I want something self contained without wires that I can put on the server and move during dinner parties (have to keep the wife happy).

That Klipsch speaker is pretty expensive. You can get a new AirPlay enabled 7.2 channel decent brand receiver for less than that. Plays fine with iPhone in my pocket and continues song where it left when I get out of car and enter the house. Don't you have any exisiting speakers or stereo in the house?

At $240 it seems like a reasonable price.

I don't have the space in the dinning room receiver speakers and wires.

I love Klipsch products. Just got my Reference One headphones today! Sound quality is superb.

I am not sure if Linn make anything as compact as the stuff you are looking for .
The last time I listened to a Linn system the speakers were 4 feet high and 3 feet wide and mounted on a lot of granite .The system was perfectly tuned for it`s environment .
The amp and drives took up about the same space as the speakers and I think it cost about £25 thousand just for the components as it was built and owned by one of the Linn engineers .
The sound from it was exquisite . The sound waves would pass through your body . It was never any strain on the ears .
A profoundly deaf man signed it as the most amazing sound wave experience ever .

I am sure that Linn is great but I was looking for a simple self contained system.

As a Iphone dock, still think that for the cost $240 is a good value.

Then buy it and enjoy;)
