hehehe... Gestapo - is way too mild in comparasion... how about NKVD? not as much known entity but it managed to crack the die hard people that withstood the basements of tsarist secret service, keeping their mouth shut and were chatty like a 12-year girls in the hands of NKVD (Oprichna, ChK, NKVD, MVD, KGB, FSB... the names kept changing, the methods were the same)...
When the government representatives have unchallenged authority and are able to suppress the population - we are in the police society... The "Minority Report" comes to mind... when a thought of a crime can be criminalized and then punished... that reminds me of the Good Ol' Soviet times, when a political joke about PolitBuro members could land a person in jail...
gee, i'd better shut up, before the guardians of the free society muzzle me!!!
