Newbie at MP3 question
 

Hey guys,

I'm planning on picking up a Sirius s50 (currently have a JVC Sirius unit) and am interested in downloading mp3's to add to the player (aside from what I can download from Sirius). What's the best place to download mp3's these days? I know that with some services, you can download but only "own" the mp3's while your subscription is active, or can only play files on their players but can't burn to cd if you wanted to. I'm looking to buy the songs outright to do as I wish (burn on cd, load into mp3 player, leave in computer, etc.)

Also, obviously some have better deals than others.

Any input to the mp3 noob appreciated! :thumbup:

I use Yahoo Music Unlimited - http://music.yahoo.com/. For $5 a month ($60 a year), you get unlimited downloads of over a million songs. The catch is that they are in protected WMA format, meaning that they can only be played on the computer that downloaded the song and certain portable devices that support the WMA licensing schemes. You can also buy the songs from Yahoo Music for 79 cents a download, which is less than most other popular services, and use them on any device you like.

iTunes allows up to 5 different computers to play their protected ACC songs. Plus, you can create a playlist and burn to CD up to 7 times to play everywhere else. Actually, you're not limited to 7 times on CD, and there's a way to get around that, but I won't discuss it here.
