Pics From Our View...

I haven't tossed up pics in awhile, so here a half dozenish fairly recent pics all shot from our deck, at ~5,000 ft elevation, overlooking hillbillyheaven and our little town.

The Autumn weather has been spectacular for the past several weeks; nothing beats Sept, Oct & November here in the mtns, imo.

Canon 40D is glitching again, (actually the lens I hope), and most are slightly cleaned up in Adobe LR. Thanks for looking!

And, another lucky dbl rainbow shot, though they are fairly common up here...

Beautiful pics. How do you like LR? I just got a copy.

LeMans: LR is a good photo only program. It isn't PS, for 'moving heads', layering, etc. It took me awhile to get OK at it, and I find that for better/realistic pics that 'less is more' in terms of adjustment(s).

Resist the urge to over sharpen and lay off the saturation slider, imo.
I still have LR3 and haven't paid for the up to LR4...

Cool pics! I should swing by sometime before you go back to FL for the winter.

Great shots as always, MD. Doing pretty well for a camera that is glitching. Maybe time for a Nikon? ;)

JCL,
It glitched, (differently), for most of our 2 month road trip, summer of '11...it revived itself since then, but now I have the mysterious but not uncommon Error 1, where the cam doesn't 'recognize' the lens. It is the 'kit' lens, as my super wide 10-22 doesn't toss that code. I broke down and ordered a new lens, (a 15-85), and hopefully that will cure this semi-common, but sort of unrepairable Canon glitch. The ~couple hundred thousand shutter activations probably aren't helping either...

Too much Canon glass to step across the road to Nikon...
Thanks for the props!

Yeah, it was in fun, anytime one has an investment in lenses it doesn't make much sense to change. And the photographer matters a whole lot more than the brand of camera.

I still have my Nikon D70, and some nice glass for it, but the Canon SD870 gets used more often.

wait these fab pics didn't come from an iphone 5? :D

All kidding aside, they are gorgeous pics and i'm very envious of your view. Seems like there are a lot of shutterbugs on this forum. I'm always seeing nice pictures.

I've gotten lazy of late. Received an Eye-Fi card for Christmas one year and now all my photo editing goes through my ipad. Snapseed being my app of choice. Course if I need to shop something, CS5's ready to go.

D7000 here.
