Aston Martin

Does anyone here own a DB7 or 9 Volante? What do you think of the car in general?

How does it's Maintenance compare to an X5?

:bump:
I know we have people here who own AMs

blackbeauty 10-23-2012 07:07 PM

i don't own one but there was a gorgeous AM in front of me yesterday at the hand car wash i go to.
he raised HELL when he claimed the car wash attendant that drove his car out of the bay to be dried bottomed out his car. so much so that there were passerby standing around listening to the irate guy. i was standing near his car when it happened but didn't hear anything. he was furious nonetheless and was threatening people left and right.

next time he should just pay for someone to come to his house and wash his car. or get a lambo and hit the button so it rises off the ground! lol

Someone who drives a "normal" car in an out of the wash everyday probably has no idea how low the chin of such a car might be. And if you didn't hear it scrape, and there was no obvious damage he should have gotten into his car and kept his mouth zipped.

Sounds like he is an attention whore.

If you didn't notice, blackbeauty is from Los Angeles and those kinds of antic with d-bags in nice cars is pretty common.

I don't have personal experience with the AMs but from what people have told me, they look fantastic but do not drive up to standard and are troublesome to maintain. I think there would be better performing cars in the price range but I must say, they are sexy cars.

Owning an AM is like dating a supermodel, no matter how hot they are, someone, somewhere is just tired of putting up with her (AM's) bullshit.

Quicksilver 10-24-2012 11:00 AM

Never owned an AM or dated a super model but like some people
Having experienced one or the other or both would be worth it if
only for short time.

blktoptravel,
Not the exact models you are looking at, but an Endodontist golf buddy has a 2010 Rapide, which is basically a DB9 four door. He paid $200Gs+ for the sumbitch, but he has 4 houses and is loaded.

I have driven it spiritedly, on some mtn roads and for a heavy 4 door it does quite well. The V12 is a beaut; the 10-15 mpg isn't so cool, but he doesn't care.

The 'tech stuff' is sort of old school, (not that I am a NAV/car tech maven), but the adj Bilsteins are magical for what it is.

If he gave it to me tomorrow, I would probably sell it; it looks sort of like a well done newer MY Buick, imo, and the cool stuff is in camo.

Like a few said above, dating knockout nude dancers is usually a short term, painful, and costly relationship.
