It was a great guy proud of his culture but friends to others.

Loved his financial logic while mayor of NYC...."2 elephants for a quarter is a good deal, IF you need 2 elephants AND you have a quarter". If I recall correctly he made the statement at a time when NYC government was cash flush and he was being pressured from every angle to spend the cash surplus. Too bad todays elected officials can't think like Ed and manage municipal coffers as if they were there own bank accounts!!!

He has my respect and will be missed!
