Test drive lies busted by telemetry

You may have heard recently about an article written by John Broder from The New York Times that makes numerous claims about the performance of the Model S. Well here's a response.

And the NYTimes responds back:

New York Times Makes It Sound Like Tesla Doesn't Know How Their Own Car Works

I read the orig art in the paper...
Both links by QwkAg and Thunder are pretty interesting.

The comments sections under the 2nd link are worth the read as the commenters toss up pretty good wondering pros and cons. Hmmm...

Back at the NewElectricCarRanch, how many of 'us' are really going out today to plunk down a deposit on a very pricey new Tesla that goes ~couple hundred miles?

Nikolas Tesla was obsessed with an idea of remote power delivery - similar to radio transmission from a central station and reception of the signal at individual location...

if his idea would have worked, the Tesla car would have been cool - you drive and are always in contact with power source, and never run out of juice... but...

this is just a wishful thinking...

PS. Was it Tesla's experiment in remote power distribution gone awry in Tunguss tundra in 1908?... hahaha

Elon Musk is a jackass. Sure the NYT guy wasn't in 100% the clear, but Musk was a loose cannon and wasn't 100% honest with his response either.

I've seen 9 of them parked today in Orange County... None driving, and one with the vanity plate <3 KWH, but I stand by my previous opinion that the only place a Tesla truly makes sense is Monaco. Range estimates are bogus, no surprise. The X6 I'm driving says 350 miles on a tank... 200 at the most around here :zoom:
