Question Dear Moderator

Some of the threads I have posted or started went MIA.
I do understand you are doing your best keep it clean for everyone.
However I wished to know what your rule of thumbs on what is deemed to be good for everyone or not.

I have seen some of the verbal assaults, which I felt that it was offensive, on other members went unfiltered and some other subjects just disappear out of air.

If you could spare few minutes to notify the offending members via PM why the thread have been disappeared, I am sure it will help discourage the problematic threads or comments pop out.

I feel that all is for fun and friendship here.
I hate to have a feeling that "big brother is watching us."

Thank you for your clarification in advance.

Sincerely
Jon

Oh stop crying.... This board is sort of like obscenity laws in small cities.
They may not be able to define what is obscene, but they know it when they see it.

-- And, I would guess, if you are an upstanding, helpful, deserving person, moderators might give you a little more slack than if your some snot nosed, obnixous, arrogant troll who seems to want to start trouble all the time.

Big brother is not watching, Big brother is government. This site is policed in house by moderators, who are much more generous with what they allow than most other hobby type boards.

So if someone deletes your post, chances are good you went too far. Don't ask for definations, just realize, you might sneak some stuff by once in a while but don't expect carte blanche.
Or, you might have said the wrong thing, too loud, too many times and are overall just weakening the experience of this board for the rest of us.

Have fun
B

I don't feel that I have ever been a troll asking for trouble, or push political agneda, etc.. Perhaps, I have been bit too honest for someone to swallow. How does some objectivies sound?
With all due respect, I have a problem understanding some of the decisions while members here are very capable of giving lessons to 'violators'.

Jon,

As BLine stated, there is no "big brother" watching. We (the moderators and admins) browse through most, if not all threads. If we see something we feel violates the Terms of Use, or if we simply feel that someone has crossed the line, we have the option to delete the thread, or warn the user via PM -- which we often do.

This is not about our being objective or subjective. In most thread delete cases, it is call based on how we feel about what was said or implied. We try to be fair, open-minded and flexible, and I believe we are.

We hope you continue to be a member of X5World. It would be impossible for us, however, to placate every member who has a "problem understanding some of the decisions." We do the best we can in as fair a manner as we know how. Sometimes, we will piss some people off. That's just the nature of the beast.

Juan

BTW, the weird food thread is still there, and I deleted the Home Depot thread because the original poster, Chip, asked me to What other thread of yours was deleted that you don't understand why Jon?

I think the mods are reading Jon's post all wrong. He isn't complaining about the need to delete certain threads (as quoted below). He agrees with what the mods are doing. He only wants some guidelines so he can avoid posting threads that will get deleted. Just my 0.02

I believe those guidelines are found in Post #6. So far it seems fair to me.
