Has anyone else found themselves reading a post about one of the many issues pertaining to the X5 (E53 or E70) and or X3 E83 and wondered what year, model and motor size the poster is referring to, only to find that the poster hasn't filled in the SAV details ?? Let's not forget the E70 will soon have a new younger brother as well.

I find this a little annoying especially when an interesting issue, problem or topic is raised that is new, different or specific to a certain year, model or motor size.

You often see a following poster come into the thread with "What year, model and or motor do you have ??" asides from "any pics ??" which of course will usually give some insight to pre or post facelift (E53's).

I'm sure you'd agree if the E53 X5 models were unchanged and were all identical in every respect that their would be no need to differentiate between them......but they don't. The only thing that all E53's share is an overall common body shape and that's about where it starts and stops.

It's not as if a poster has to be all 'secret squirrell' about his ride especially when actively participating on this forum.

IMO it would benefit all readers to quickly identify a posters SAV details.
